1st
The temperature rises quickly in the morning in long sunny spells. Becoming rather cloudy for 2 hours in the middle of the day before the cloud clears away allowing the temperature to rise again and reaching a late peak at 17.50h, equalling the 3rd highest temperature recorded at this site.
2nd
Early cloud clears to give a brief bright spell before cloud approaches from the south giving some light ran in mid morning. Brighter for a while but another spell of light rain arrives in early afternoon. Staying mainly cloudy for the rest of the day with a few sunny intervals .
3rd
A day with long sunny periods although hazy at times with extensive thin high cloudy for much of the day. Thunder and lightning in the vicinity around 23.00.
4th
LP 994 hPa S of Iceland and W of Ireland. Thunderstorm overhead at 00.30. Patchy cloud first thing, clearing to give a long sunny period morning and afternoon although a little hazy at times with thin high cloud, which becomes mre extensive in the evening.
5th
LP 1015 hPa develops over central France and moves NNE. A dull start with rain arriving from the S around 08.30 and lasting until near 12.00, moderate in short spells. Brightening in eraly afternoon to give some sunny spells.
6th
LP 996 hPa W of Ireland, HP 1021 hPa Rhineland. A bright day with a mixture of cloudy and sunny spells, more sunshine in the afternoon and evening than the morning.
7th
LP 998 hPa N Scotland. A little early brightness but soon becoming overcast with a short spell of light rain in mid-morning. Clearing to give some sunny spells but rather windy with bands of clouds crossing in the afternoon, each with a few spots of light rain.
8th
Mainly cloudy, and overcast at times. A few sunny intervals after late morning and clearing more by early evening.
9th
HP 1026 hPa SW of Cornwall & W of Brittany. A sunny day with just a few short breaks in sunshine from some patchy cloud in mid-morning.
10th
A sunny day with hardly any clouds until just after 18.00 when a sheet of high cloud pushes across from the west.
11th
A sunny morning with one short cloudy period in early afternoon, clearing to give another sunny period through afternoon and evening. Breezy at times.
12th
A very dreary grey day with overcast skies for all but a very brief interlude in the morning. A spell of light rain/drizzle in early afternoon.
13th
LP 1009 hPA, Isle of Man. Overcast again with intermittent light rain and drizzle during the morning. A little brighter for a very short time in early afternoon.
14th
A short spell of light rain in the early hours. Once more a mainly overcast day with short lived brightness in mid-afternoon. A further spell of light rain during the early part of the night.
15th
Dull and overcast morning again, with some intermittent drizzle. The cloud starts to break up after midday giving some sunny intervals in the afternoon and evening but still with some cloudy spells.
16th
The fifth consecutive dull and overcast start to the day. Very slowly becoming brighter after 13.00 with some sunny intervals.
17th
A brief moment of brightness in the morning before it turns overcast once more. Cloud cover gradually towards midday to give some short sunny spells in the afternoon and a fine end to the day.
18th
For a change, a clear blue sky to start the day. Long sunny periods despite a gradual build up of cloud, sunshine becoming more hazy as it turns cloudy in late afternoon and overcast in the evening.
19th
LP 1003 hPa Eastern Scotland. A spell of light rain around 08.00 clears to give a day of long sunny spells interrupted by a couple of bands of cloud moving down from the NW.
20th
A mainly overcast day, with a little light drizzle in mid-morning. A little brighter from time to time in late morning and mid-afternoon but a dull evening with a spell of light rain.
21st
Sunny and clear in the morning with some cloud developing after 10.00. Further sunny periods in the afternoon although the breeze increases into the evening .
22nd
Sunny and clear for a time first thing but quickly becoming cloudy after 07.30. Remaining cloudy throughout most of the morning and afternoon with a few sunny intervals in mid-afternoon, becoming overcast later before clearing slightly in late evening.
23rd
A sunny and clear start before a cloudsheet drifts across from the west. Breaks in the cloud from late morning give some fairly long sunny spells.
24th
LP 1003 hPa English Channel south of Cornwall deepening and tracking slowly ENE. Very dull, wet and cool for a July day. Intermittent drizzle in the morning followed by a spell of moderate rain in the middle of the day and early afternoon. Continuing light rain in the afternoon turns much heavier just before 18.00 with thunder in the vicinity. Rain eases off after 22.00.
25th
LP 994 hPa near Hook of Holland. Intermittent light rain in the early hours clearing by sunrise. A mixture of cloudy and sunny spells through the day.
26th
LP 989 hPa S of Iceland & W of Galway. A little brightness first thing with rain arriving from the west just after 09.00. Another cool and rainy day with rain slowly clearing after 18.00.
27th
Twin centre LP 996 hPa Northern Ireland and 994 hPa North Sea. A spell of light rain in the early hours clearing away before dawn, A rather cloudy day with some sunny intervals in mid morning and early afternoon.
28th -31st
Fairly bright days with a fine start then with a build up of cloud from mid-morning. Rather cloudy at times after late morning but with some sunny spells later, longer sunny spells on the 31st..
