LP 978 hPA SSW of Ireland, W of Brittany. Clear with ground frost at first with some mist and cloud developing in midmorning. Becoming overcast and dull in early afternoon with a spell of drizzle before sunset.
2nd
LP 991 hPa Bristol Channel. An overcast morning with rain arriving from the west in late morning. The rain persists until sunset , heavy for a time in the afternoon.
3rd
LP 969 hPa W of Ireland. Overcast and dull with a long period of rain starting in mid-morning, crossing from the west. Rain becomes fairly heavy in early afternoon, clearing just before sunset.
4th
LP 974 hPa SW Ireland. Rain showers in the morning with a few short sunny intervals. One brief and heavy rain shower in early afternoon, the rest of the afternoon stays dry but rather cloudy. More rain showers in the evening.
5th
LP 982 hPa Anglesey. Rain showers in the night dying out before sunrise. A cloudy but fairly bright day with a few short sunny intervals. Showery light rain moves across from the SW a little after sunset.
6th
LP 991 hPa SE England moving E and filling to lose identity. A shower clips this area just before sunrise which is then followed by a rather foggy spell in mid-morning. Becoming clearer with clouds lifting to give a sunny spell in the early afternoon but more cloudy again later.
7th
LP 980 hPa near The Wash. Rain, heavy at times but intermittent, starts around 03.00 lasting until near 09.00. Another band of showery rain after 10.00 is followed a short sunny interval and more showers with cloud finally breaking up in early afternoon to give a couple of short sunny spells. The sky is maijnly clear after 15.00.

A day of short sunny spells - mainly during the morning - and longer cloudy spells. A short but rather heavy rain shower at sunset and further showery rain into the night.
9th
LP 977 hPa W of Ireland. Rain continues for a while overnight. A generally damp and gloomy day although the cloud is broken at times in the morning and it's a little brighter around noon. Intermittent rain and drizzle with more persistent rain arriving from a cold front moving eastwards in the early evening from a cold front which is very heavy at times and lasts into the night.
10th
LP 967 hPa Southern Scotland. The very heavy bursts of rain continue until 01.00. Another extremely heavy spell of rain from a trough moving through at 05.00 lasting for an hour Rather cloudy day with some breaks in the cloud but also dull at times. After 15.00 a band of rain passes giving more rather heavy rain as well as thunder and lightning.
11th
LP 971 hPa Northern Scotland and 977 hPa English Channel. Further bands of very heavy rain from early morning, the first with thunder around 05.00 and the second just after 06.00 to 08.15 with even heavier rain. After sky clears a little there is another brief shower at 09.40 and it turns overcast and very dull again. Becoming brighter in the afternoon with a brief sunny spell.

LP 986 hPa North Sea. A sunny and clear morning but cloud moves across from the NW by midday. A cloudy afternoon with a light and brief rain shower. Some light drizzle in the evening.
13th
LP 1004 hPa just NW of Ireland. Another sunny and clear morning but high cloud spreads slowly from the N towards midday. Cloudy for a time then brighter with a couple of short sunny spells in the afternoon. Bands of showery rain cross from the SW in the night.
14th
LP 998 hPa North Sea. Showery rain continues overnight, dying out in the early hours. Sunny although partly cloudy until 10.00 when there is a cloudy spell. Briefly brighter around noon but more cloudy in the afternoon and dull at times before the sky starts to clear a little at sunset.
15th
HP 1037 hPa NE of Azores, Hurricane Alex 986 hPa Azores. Rather cloudy in the morning with a short bright spell at first. Clearing in the middle of the day to give a sunny period in the afternoon.
16th
HP 1035 hPa Spain, LP 1014 hPa N Germany. Sunny start but becoming cloudy for a period until after midday. Bright in the afternoon with a couple of long sunny spells but with extensive high, thin cloud at times. Very light snowfall begins around 22.30, moving down from the NNW.
17th
Light snowfall continues intermittently during the night, with a covering on the ground of only 0.5cm and snowfall clearing by daybreak. Snow melts fairly quickly, a mainly dull and overcast day with some light drizzle.
18th
LP 1003 hPa SW of Cornwall, HP 1023 hPa Hungary. A rather cloudy day, brighter at times with just a little weak sunshine in early afternoon.
19th
A frosty morning with temperature staying below freezing until 10.45. Some early sunshine but a large cloudsheet drifts slowly across, clearing in late morning to give clear skies and a long sunny period for the rest of the day.
20th
A frosty, sunny and mainly clear day with a cloudsheet on the north / north-eastern horizon that hardly moves all day. Temperature only climbs above freezing shortly before noon. Some patchy cloud in the afternoon but sunshine is almost uninterrupted.

HP 1030 hPa Germany. Another cold and frosty start with the temperature below freezing until late morning, when it becomes milder fairly quickly. A cloudy day but becoming brighter around midday with a short spell of rather hazy sunshine. Precipitation is from frost melt.

LP 967 hPa S of Iceland. An overcast and rather gloomy day, with light rain and drizzle from mid-morning to early afternoon as a series of fronts cross the UK.
23rd
HP 1037 hPa Eastern France/Switzerland, LP 961 hPa NNW of Azores. Foggy during most of the morning with visibility down to around 150m at times. After the fog dissipates in late morning, brightens for a time in the middle of the day with some brief, weak sunshine. The afternoon is rather cloudy and occasionally dull. A spell of light rain in the early part of the night.

A little drizzle in the morning, an overcast and rather dull Sunday .
25th
HP 1032 hPa Austria, LP 979 hPa NNW of Azores. Mainly clear start, a sunny period in the morning with some patchy high cloud which thickens and becomes more extensive after midday to give an overcast afternoon.
26th
LP 971 hPa NW Scotland. A cloudy but fairly bright morning with a couple of sunny intervals. Rain moves in from the west in early afternoon and it also becomes very windy .
27th
LP 985 hPa off Eastern Scotland. A wet and windy night with light rain and drizzle followed by a dull, wet and windy day with heavier rain druing the middle part of the day. Rain starts to clear south-eastwards around sunset but there is a short heavy burst of rain in the evening as the cold finally clears.

HP 1042 hPa Azores, LP 977 hPa Finland. A sunny morning with uninterrupted sunshine until after midday. Cloudier for a time in early afternoon but with another sunny period later.
29th
LP 950 hPa "Storm Gertrude" N of Shetland. A windy, dull and overcast day with intermittent light drizzle. Drizzle, then rain becomes more persistent into the evening and night. continuing past midnight.
30th
LP 965 hPa Faroe Islands. Continuing strong winds and rain which is briefly heavy as the back of the cold front passes after 04.00. An overcast morning with cloud slowly clearing towards late morning. Some long sunny spells from late morning into late afternoon.
31st
HP 1040 hPa E of Azores, LP 971 hPa at 55°N 30°W. Intermittent light drizzle in the morning from just before sunrise to mid-morning. Brighter for a time with a little sunshine in the middle of the day before turning overcast and dull from mid-afternoon.
