1st
LP 983 hPa SW of Iceland, HP 1023 hPa W of Denmark. Some low cloud and mist in the vicinity during early morning, clearing to give long sunny spells although rather cloudy for a time in the middle of the day.
2nd
LP 1015 hPa East Anglia. A rather cloudy but warm and humid day. A few short sunny spells with the longest in the middle of day before thundery shower pass close by to the west in the afternoon. A short spell of light rain after 22.00h.
3rd
Some light rain and drizzle in the early hours. Bright for most of the day with sunny intervals in the morning. Cloud is more broken in the afternoon resulting in some longer sunny spells.
4th
A long sunny spell from first light before cloud develops in mid morning. Sunny intervals in the middle part of the day before the sky largely clears in mid afternoon to give some more sunny spells.
5th
LP 994 hPa S of Ireland, LP 996 hPa SW Scotland. Sunny for the first part of the morning with increasing cloud cover allowing just sunny intervals through to early afternoon. Becoming overcast in mid-afternoon with rain arriving from the west by 17.00.
6th
LP 986 hPa NE England. Further rain continues overnight ending in the early hours. Then an awful summer's morning with persistent heavy rain, strong winds and very cool for June with the temperature below 10 °C for much of the morning. A "wrap-around" occlusion is responsible for the rain from 06.30 to 11.30 when it slowly peters out. Clearing from the west to give some sunny spells in the afternoon but also a few showers and still very windy.
7th
LP 991 hPa North Sea midway between Scotland and Denmark. A sunny start with cloud developing after 08.30. Bright and breezy with some sunny spells through the rest of the morning and afternoon.
8th
LP 993 hPa S of Iceland at 20°W. Remaining overcast for almost the whole day, although not especially dull but only brief glimpses of weak sunshine. Cloudsheet breaks up a little in late evening. Late in the night a thunderstorm crosses with many flashes of lightning in the vicinity and a few minutes of exceptionally heavy rainfall.
9th
LP 1000 hPa NE Scotland. Rain associated with the previous night's storm clears after midnight. Sunny spells early but becoming more cloudy through the morning with some sunny intervals. Less cloudy from early afternoon with some longer sunny spells later.
10th
Early low cloud clears around 08.00 to give a couple of long sunny periods split only briefly by a build up of cloud in mid/late morning.
11th
An overcast and slightly dull start but the cloud breaks in mid-morning. Sunny spells develop but it turns cloudy again for a long spell in mid-afternoon before brightening once again to give a long spell of sunshine.
12th
Some early sunshine but becoming cloudy by 07.30 with just a few sunny intervals through rest of the morning. Staying rather cloudy in the afternoon but with some sunny spells.
13th
HP 1020 hPa Cornwall. Mainly sunny through the morning, cloudy at times in the afternoon but with further spells of sunshine.
14th
A day of almost uninterrupted sunshine with very little cloud until late evening.
15th
HP 1028 hPa Azores ridging NE. Mainly clear through most of the morning giving a long sunny period. An area of thin cloud moves across from the west during the afternoon but still allowing some sunny spells.
16th
HP 1030 hPa W of Brittany. A clear start with a long spell of sunshine before the cloud starts to develop in mid-morning. A mixture of cloudy and sunny spells through the rest of the day and feeling warm later after a fresh breeze eases.
17th
HP 1029 hPa Cornwall. Sunny and mainly clear until late morning when cloud starts to develop. Sunny spells through the middle of the day and afternoon with sky mostly clearing by evening.
18th
HP 1024 hPa Southern Irish Sea. A long sunny period in the morning with some cloud developing towards the middle of the day and early afternoon. Clearing afterwards to give another long sunny period.
19th
A long sunny period through the morning and early afternoon. More cloudy for a long spell in mid-afternoon but still with sunny spells and clearer later though becoming more hazy by evening.
20th
A bright day with sunny spells, but a high cloud layer is present for much of the day making the sunshine hazy or weak at times.
21st
A hazy start under a layer of high cloud slowly gives way to hazy sunshine with a few clouds. Sunny from mid-morning although still hazy at times. The hottest June day in these site records which go back to 1984.
22nd
Sunny spells in the first part of the morning followed by a thunderstorm with brief heavy rainfall just before 11.00 as a cold front crosses from the SW. More sunny spells in the afternoon but increasingly cloudy as the day progresses.
23rd
A bright day with sunny spells throughout most of the day but cloudier in late afternoon.
24th
LP 980 hPa Faroe Islands. An overcast morning and dull for a time with a little light drizzle. Brighter in the afternoon with a couple of sunny spells but overcast again by evening. Breezy for much of the day.
